WELCOME to the 'FIELD OF DREAMS' Kiwanis Field
Welcome to the Field of Dreams now officially known as Kiwanis Field
Kiwanis Field is a Georgetown community led project to upgrade the community outdoor athletic facilities at Georgetown High School to a “State of the Art” venue including an artificial turf field, all weather running track, lights, electronic scoreboard, and spectator seating. This first class facility will ensure that our youth have excellent facilities to use to train, compete and develop their skills.
We are pleased to announce that the dream has come true! Work has now begun on the construction of the Kiwanis Field and it is expected that the field will be ready for use in September 2010. The Georgetown Community rose to the fundraising challenge to raise $500 000 so that construction could begin. In fact we have surpassed this goal and have raised a total of $620 000 through the many generous contributions of Georgetown community clubs, local businesses and individuals. The Field of Dreams Committee wishes to thank everyone who has donated to this project. As well we want to recognize the partnership of the Town of Halton Hills and the Halton District School Board whose collaborative efforts made this community initiative possible. We also want to acknowledge a significant grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
In appreciation and to give public recognition of those who have contributed to the Kiwanis Field there will be a Donor Wall displayed inside Georgetown District High School. Donations of over $100 will be recognized on the wall. You still have a chance to contribute to the Kiwanis Field and to become part of the donor wall. Donations are still being accepted until August 31, 2010. You can donate online or by cheque. Please go to our website to get the details.
Thank you for your support and for making the Kiwanis Field a reality.
